As of 26 of March 2018, Adobe has announced end-of-life for their Adobe Business Catalyst product, leaving their 77,000+ customers with no real instructions on what to do except download their data.
Human Pixel specialises in migrating data from many different sources, and as a reaction to this news, we have developed a service for Migration of Adobe Business Catalyst to another website platform and hosting environment, and CRM for customer data.
Depending upon the unique aspects of the individual website being migrated will depend on the technology stack which we recommend to our customer.
The most important aspect of any migration from an end-of-life product is to ensure that all of the data that is built up in the software is retrieved and migrated correctly to the new system, to make sure that the impact to the business is minimised.
OUR PROVEN PROCESS
STEP 1 – SURVEY
In conjunction with your responses to our Adobe Business Catalyst survey, we will provide you with a comprehensive recommendation to ensure that the features which are currently in use are matched to a commensurately positioned technology so that you do not lose functionality.
STEP 2 – PLAN
Once the recommendation is accepted, we will produce a plan which details when and how we will go about migrating your data away from Business Catalyst. This plan will be presented to you for approval before the migration.
STEP 3 – MIGRATION
The migration may take hours or days, depending upon the amount of data in your Adobe Business Catalyst installation. We will remain in contact throughout the migration process to ensure that you are kept up to date on progress.
STEP 4 – WEB CONTENT, THEMES, STYLES
If you have chosen to replicate the existing website design without changes, we move the web content, replicate the design and styling across to the new chosen web platform copying the layout and style of the website across to the new Web CMS with best practice in mind. If you have chosen a new design, we will work with you through a design process.
STEP 5 – TESTING
Testing is a very important stage in the process. Once everything is completed, we will test everything that has been migrated to ensure that no data was missed. Once the testing is complete by us, we will also request that you perform a second test and advise us of any inconsistencies with the original
STEP 6 – BACKUP
We maintain a backup of the old website and CRM data for security purposes. This backup will be kept for a period of 3 years on our secure cloud for access by you at any time.
STEP 7 – CUTOVER
Once everything is completed, we will cutover to the new hosting. There will generally be no downtime and full DNS propagation is normally completed in 24 to 48 hours for all parts of the world
STEP 8 – ONGOING SUPPORT
We will support you ongoing for any support, updates or any other requirements.
FAQ's
When you update the nameservers for a domain, it may take up to 24-48 hours for the change to take effect. This period is called DNS propagation. In other words, it is a period of time ISP (Internet service provider) nodes across the world take to update their caches with the new DNS information of your domain.
We will migrate to whatever makes sense for the customer. We may suggest WordPress, Magento, Joomla, Shopify, Squarespace or many other Content Management Systems. This recommendation is made after the initial audit at Step 1
We’re CRM Experts, and we work with Custom CRM development using Open Source technologies like SuiteCRM and SugarCRM. We also work with Salesforce, Hubspot, Zoho CRM and many others.
